Sauce on the Side: Rethink Calzones

May 15, 2013 2:01 pm

Sauce on the Side cooks up inventive and delicious calzones that will change your view of Italian cuisine. All the ingredients used are fresh and combined in a creative way like the Which Came First stuffed with roasted pulled chicken, applewood smoked bacon, jalapenos, a cracked egg, onion, mozzarella cheese, and salsa verde sauce. Regulars recommend the Figgy Piggy with applewood smoked bacon, figs, balsamic onions, boursin, mozzarella, ricotta, and red sauce, and the Fatty B with pepperoni, meatballs, onions, provolone, roasted garlic, mozzarella, ricotta, and spicy red sauce. Try the dipping sauces like garlic oil and pesto for even more flavor. Tasty salads are also on the menu. Pair your meal with one of the 50 beers available.

Sidney Street Cafe: Upscale Dining in St. Louis

May 9, 2013 3:31 pm

Looking for a special place to come for dinner? Head over to Sidney Street Cafe. The interior is full of dark woods, dim lighting, and exposed brick. The service is always attentive and efficient. Indulge in a beignet as you look over the menu. Start with the Lobster Turnovers with a tomato brandy reduction or the Gnocchi and Meatballs with brioche, root vegetable, and bacon-dashi. If you're a meat eater order the Steak Wasabi, a filet encrusted in wasabi, crispy tempura vegetables, and shitake cream sauce. Regulars say it's some of the best steak they've ever had, perfectly cooked with a crispy outside. Reservations are recommended for peak hours and sometimes need to be made in advance so plan ahead.
